About us

New Globe Lanka Pvt. Ltd (NGL Lanka), the latest initiative from India-based New Globe Logistik, has officially launched its operations in Sri Lanka. Drawing on the extensive logistics expertise of New Globe Logistik, an ISO 9001-certified and IATA-approved company headquartered in Mumbai, NGL Lanka is dedicated to providing a comprehensive suite of services. These services encompass air and ocean freight forwarding, customs clearance, warehousing, transportation, and supply chain management.

Ashwin has over 20 years of experience working with different organizations in this industry. He began his career with Hanjin Shipping in India in 1993. He then worked with Panalpina in Singapore (1994-96) in the Sales department. Since joining New Globe in 1996 he has been instrumental in developing strong partnerships and alliances with our overseas agents and developing both the Export and Import side of the business. He has been instrumental in getting New Globe ISO registered in 2003. Ashwin holds a Bachelors in Commerce Degree from Sydenham college in Mumbai.

Director

Fréderique van Gelderen, Director in our Dutch operations and International Legal and Tax Director, has a background in international law, tax, and finance. She began her career in advertising in 1999 before transitioning to the financial services industry in 2003. Working with a global fiduciary services firm in the Netherlands, she later studied Tax Law at the University of Rotterdam. Between 2008 and 2014, she advanced in the Swiss financial services industry, becoming a partner in 2010. Returning to the Netherlands in 2014, she managed the Dutch office and led a global Indian desk for an international fiduciary services firm. In 2023, she joined Motus Services BV and the New Globe Group to strengthen the group’s corporate organization.

Bringing a wealth of experience to New Globe Lanka, Sajith Thallwatta has forged a commendable track record across diverse roles. Beginning as a Physical Trainer at Colombo Hilton, he seamlessly transitioned into Executive Sales and Marketing positions at United Parcel Services and Freight Links International, specializing in LCL traffics. His journey evolved at WSA Lines Lanka, where he ascended from Senior Executive to General Manager. Continuing his trajectory as General Manager at Freight Systems Lanka (Pvt) Ltd, followed by Waterways International Lanka Pvt Ltd, Sajith now spearheads operations in Lanka for New Globe Lanka.
